Ordinary Toby jug - Adderley circa 1960

Ordinary Toby jug produced by Adderley of Longton, England, circa 1960. The Ordinary Toby is the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. This Ordinary Toby is seated in a chair holding a full pitcher of ale in his left hand balancing it on his left knee. This is the largest of three known sizes with the small size standing 4 inches tall and the miniature size 3 1/4" tall. This jug was produced from molds acquired from Floral China.
