One for the Road toby jug - Mugeens circa 2000

One for the Road toby jug produced by Mugeens of England circa 2000. Coming to the end of a pleasant visit with friends in a nearby village, One for the Road is a leprechaun toby jug squatting on the ground and enjoying one last cup of tea before taking to the road and returning home for the night. A leprechaun is a diminutive supernatural being in Irish folklore, classed by some as a type of solitary fairy. They are usually depicted as little bearded men, wearing a green coat and hat, who partake in mischief. In more recent times, they have been depicted as shoemakers who have a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
