Napoleon Bonaparte faience character jug produced in France circa 1890. Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) was the Emperor of France from 1804 to 1814 and again in 1815. He led France in the Napoleonic Wars seizing control of most of Europe before being defeated at the Battle of Waterloo and exiled. A thick twisted rope forms the handle of the jug.
