Mr. Brisket The Butcher toby jug - Royal Doulton 1986 - 1991

Mr. Brisket The Butcher 3/4 body toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1986 to 1991. Clarence Brisket is a roly-poly man, the heart and soul of High Street, jolly and full of laughter; one of four brothers, all butchers, whose father Percy Brisket began the business as a young man with his pretty wife Angela. Clarence wears the outfit of the trade, a straw hat, long apron, collar and tie. He holds his cleaver and sharpening steel ready to serve his next customer. Clarence is a pigeon fancier. He breeds fine homing pigeons that he houses in a large shed painted in black and white panels. He also exhibits rare fan-tailed pigeons at the Cage Bird Society's shows. On the shed wall are rows of prize certificates of which he is very proud. He is a city Councilor and a good friend of Alderman Mace. This is one of twenty-five Doultonville toby jugs.
