Monkey water pitcher toby jug in a green colorway produced by Royal Tettau Porcelain Factory of Bavaria, Germany, circa 1920 using its Royal Bayreuth tradename. Monkey is a common name that may refer to most mammals of the infraorder Simiiformes, also known as the simians. Traditionally, all animals in the group now known as simians are counted as monkeys except the apes, which constitutes an incomplete paraphyletic grouping. This monkey is wearing a hat and holding his head in his hands. His tail curls up to form the handle of the jug. This is the largest of three known sizes with the milk pitcher standing 4 3/4" tall and the creamer 4" tall.
