Monkey majolica toby jug produced by Desvres circa 1905 model number 1308. This dressed monkey is sitting on the ground and drinking milk from a coconut. His outfit and fez indicate he is a performing monkey for perhaps a street vendor or organ grinder. An unusual feature of this monkey are his glass eyes. A blue colorway is known. This is a rare jug.
