Monk toby jug produced by Gladding McBean of Lincoln, California, circa 1940. This Monk toby jug depicts a pious and portly servant of God dressed in his monastic robes a hat and rope belt. This monk is holding both of his hands on his portly belly. Produced as a part of Gladding McBean's El Patio Franciscan line between late 1939 to early 1941, this monk was produced in a variety of El Patio colors including the coral, turquoise and maroon shown here.
