Miss Happ toby jug blue - Hornsea Pottery circa 1950

Miss Happ toby jug finished in a blue pastel colorway, designed by Colin Rawson and produced by Hornsea Pottery of Hornsea, England, between 1950 and 1952. Miss Happ is an old woman clutching a walking stick and holding a basket of flowers on her arm. She got her name when someone at the pottery was holding a prototype jug and trying to name the piece. The person dropped the jug smashing it to pieces. This mishap became Miss Happ.
