March Hare & Dormouse toby jug produced by Tony Wood Studio of Fenton, England, in a 1983 limited edition for Perennis and offered on a subscription basis. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is an 1865 English children's novel by Lewis Carroll. It details the story of a girl named Alice who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. The March Hare is a character most famous for appearing in the tea party scene where Alice, hypothesizes: "The March Hare will be much the most interesting, and perhaps as this is May it won't be raving mad – at least not so mad as it was in March." "Mad as a March Hare" is a common British English phrase. The Dormouse sat between the March Hare and the Mad Hatter, who were using him as a cushion while he slept when Alice arrived. This is one of sixteen toby jug in the Alice in Wonderland Series.
