Mani prototype character jug - Peggy Davies Ceramics circa 1995

Mani prototype character jug produced by Peggy Davies Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1995 for artist Damien Hirst. Gary "Mani" Mounfield (1962 - ) is an English rock bassist, best known for being a member of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream. In 1979 he joined The Stone Roses that were part of the "Madchester" music scene. Playing on both of the band's albums, Mounfield was in The Stone Roses until they disbanded in 1996. Mounfield has often been viewed as the most amiable member of the Roses, both while the band were still together and following their break-up. A gavel forms the handle of the jug.
