Madison face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2001

Madison face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2001. Madison is the mermaid in the 1984 romantic comedy "Splash". Madison and Allen first meet as children when Allen jumps overboard on a cruiser. Years later, Madison saves Allen's life and then Allen joins Madison in the underwater world where they get married in a Neptune Ceremony. Years later Madison and Allen go back to dry land to save Allen's family business that has gone under while he was gone. Afterwards Madison decides to stay on land with Allen. Madison's face pot quote, "Beware the Sirens Song", has been a warning to sailors since the days of Odysseus, who was so worried about the allure of the siren's song, he put wax in his shipmates' ears and had himself tied to his ship's mast. "No Siren Did Ever So Charm The Ear Of The Listener, As The Listening Ear Has Charmed The Soul Of The Siren." -Henry Taylor
