Lord Mackintosh toby jug produced by Leonard Jarvis of England in a 1953 limited edition of 12. Harold Vincent Mackintosh, 1st Viscount Mackintosh of Halifax (1891-1964) was a British businessman, public servant and benefactor. Mackintosh was the owner of the confectionery business of John Mackintosh & Sons from 1920 when his father died of a heart attack. He was involved in the amalgamation of a group of Halifax building societies into the Halifax Building Society in 1928. Lord Mackintosh was also an avid collector of toby jugs and had urged Leonard Jarvis to model a Winston Churchill toby jug in 1948.
