Lily the Pink face pot - Kevin Francis 2002

Lily the Pink face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 2002 limited edition to celebrate New Years Eve. Lily the Pink is and elephant and among the largest existing land animals. Distinctive features of elephants include a long proboscis called a trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, pillar-like legs, and tough but sensitive skin. The trunk is used for breathing and is prehensile, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. Lily the Pink's face pot quote, "Happy New Year! 2002" celebrates this special occasion. Lily the Pink comes from the song "Pink Elephants on Parade" from the 1941 Disney animated feature film "Dumbo" in which Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse, having accidentally become intoxicated through drinking water spiked with champagne, see pink elephants sing, dance, and play musical instruments during a hallucination sequence.
