Lifeguard character jug - Crown Winsor circa 1985

Lifeguard character jug produced by Crown Winsor of Longton, England, circa 1985. The Lifeguard is a member of the British Life Guards, a cavalry unit formed in the 1650s and the senior regiment in the British Army. The regiment is now part of The Household Cavalry and operates as both an armored reconnaissance unit and a ceremonial guard to the monarch. His sword forms the handle of the jug.
