Ken & Ken toby jug - Paul Rayner 2011

Ken & Ken 3/4 body toby jug produced by Paul Rayner of Whanganui, New Zealand, in 2011. Ken and Ken are two of several alter egos created by New Zealand singing and comedy duo The Topp Twins. The Topp Twins (1958 - ) are the folk singing and activist sister comedy duo of New Zealand entertainers Jools and Lynda Topp. They are known for their country music influenced style, live shows and television performances. They often perform as characters, the most notable being the roles Ken & Ken, and Camp Mother & Camp Leader. The two Kens are modeled on stereotypical Kiwi blokes propping up the bar at a pub. The Topp Twins have been delighting audiences with their music and comedy since the 1980s. Their comedy television series which ran for three seasons from 1996 to 2000 was extremely popular. Their affectionately drawn stereotypical New Zealand characters enabled New Zealanders from all walks of life to laugh at themselves. Ken & Ken's arm forms the handle of the jug.
