John Bull medium majolica toby jug in an all over caramel brown colorway produced by Thomas Forester & Sons of Longton, England, circa 1906. Created by Dr. John Arbuthnot in 1712, John Bull is the national personification of Great Britain. This standing John Bull toby jug has his right hand in his jacket pocket and left hand on his hip forming the handle of the jug. "John Bull" is incised on his back across the shoulders. Many colorways are known.
