Jazz Singer teapot - Fitz and Floyd 1993

Jazz Singer teapot produced in Sri Lanka by Fitz and Floyd of Medford, Oregon, in 1993 as a part of its Omnibus line. Jazz is a style of music that was invented by African American musicians in the early part of the twentieth century. Jazz music has very strong rhythms and often involves improvisation. A jazz singer is a vocalist whose technique is similar to that of a musical instrument, and whose singing has a strong jazz feeling, chiefly imparted through phrasing, melodic improvisation, and rhythmic subtlety. The jazz singer's left arm forms the handle of the teapot while the stole wrapped around her shoulders forms the spout. The Jazz Singer teapot is a pair with the Jazz Player teapot.
