Happy Sad double-sided majolica character jug produced in France circa 1910. With two superimposed heads this jug is called Happy Sad because when the jug is full she is happy knowing her husband has not drunk all of the ale. When the jug is empty and turned upside down the man is sad because there is no more to drink. There is an L impressed on the bottom of this jug.
