General Jackson character jug colorway - Royal Doulton 2010

General Jackson character jug gray hair colorway designed by Caroline Dadd and modeled by Shane Ridge, and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 2010 commissioned by UK International Ceramics. Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (1824-1863) was a general officer in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He played a prominent role in nearly all military engagements in the Eastern theater of the war until his death. Military historians regard him as one of the most gifted tactical commanders in U.S. history. After Jackson's death, his military exploits developed a legendary quality, becoming an important element of the pseudohistorical ideology of the "Lost Cause". A sword handle and the Confederate flag form the handle of the jug.
