Friar Tuck character jug produced by Aquila Ceramics in Drury, New Zealand, circa 1975. Friar Tuck is one of the legendary Merry Men, the band of heroic outlaws in the folklore of Robin Hood. Most commonly, Tuck is depicted as a fat, bald and jovial monk with a great love of food and ale. A wooden staff forms the handle of this jug. This is one of the Sherwood Forest Series.
