Fred Fearless The Fireman toby jug - Royal Doulton 1989 - 1991

Fred Fearless The Fireman 3/4 body toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1989 to 1991. Fred is the bravest of men and on several occasions has risked his own life in saving people who were trapped by smoke and fire. He has a medal for his part in rescuing three children from a bedroom while a fire raged below, and he was once injured by a collapsing stair. He is an amateur athlete and runs in the Doultonville marathon every year to raise money for the fire service. In his spare time, he plays trumpet in the Doultonville Brass Band, sometimes solo, and his daughter Priscilla plays the coronet. His wife Vera is a midwife who has helped many Doultonville mothers bring their children into the world. This is one of twenty-five Doultonville toby jugs.
