Fortune Teller Bunnykins toby jug - Royal Doulton 2000

Fortune Teller Bunnykins toby jug designed by Kim Curtis and modeled by Warren Platt, and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in a 2000 limited edition of 1,500 for UK International Ceramics. Fortune telling is one of the ancient skills of the gypsies. For centuries these dark-skinned nomadic people have wandered Europe, making a living as smiths, tinkers, horse dealers and fortunetellers at the fair ground. For a silver coin the old gypsy woman will reveal the mystery of your future by practicing the ancient arts such as astrology, palmistry, crystal ball gazing, and reading tea leaves or tarot cards. The Fortune Teller Bunnykins is the first in a series of toby jugs created in the Bunnykins theme. UK International Ceramics transferred the Royal Doulton Bunnykins nursery ware concept into toby jug form with three others following in successive years. The Fortune Teller's black cat familiar forms the handle of the jug.
