Flower Seller toby jug in a miniature size produced by Shorter & Son of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1950. A flower seller, normally a woman, traditionally sells flowers on the street. Often the flowers are carried in a basket, for example. Quite common in Victorian London, the profession has slowly died out. The subject matter has been a favorite of artists. This is the smallest of four known sizes.
