Flower Seller toby jug - Bairstow Manor Pottery circa 2005

Flower Seller toby jug produced by Bairstow Manor Pottery of Hanley, England, circa 2005. A flower seller, normally a woman, traditionally sells flowers on the street. Often the flowers are carried in a basket, for example. Quite common in Victorian London, the profession has slowly died out. The subject matter has been a favorite of artists. This toby jug was produced from Shorter & Son's original molds from the 1940s.
