Flounder toby jug lemonade - Royal Bayreuth circa 1920

Flounder lemonade pitcher toby jug in a green colorway produced by Royal Tettau Porcelain Factory of Bavaria, Germany, circa 1920 using its Royal Bayreuth tradename. Flounders are a group of flatfish species. They are demersal fish, found at the bottom of oceans around the world; some species will also enter estuaries. Flounders ambush their prey, feeding at soft muddy areas of the sea bottom, near bridge piles, docks, and coral reefs. This is the largest of three known sizes with the milk pitcher standing 5" tall and the creamer standing 3 1/2" tall.
