Falstaff musical jug - Bond Ware circa 1960

Falstaff musical character jug produced by Bond Ware of Japan circa 1960 with a musical movement in its base. Sir John Falstaff appears in three plays by William Shakespeare. Falstaff is featured as the buffoonish suitor of two married women in The Merry Wives of Windsor and companion to Prince Hal. A fat and boastful knight he spends most of his time drinking at the Boar's Head Inn with petty criminals, living on stolen or borrowed money. A large feather from his hat forms the handle of this jug.
