Everton Football Supporter character jug - Royal Doulton 1992-1999

Everton Football Supporter character jug modeled by Stanley J. Taylor and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, between 1992-1999. Everton, a founding member of its league and one of the top five most successful English clubs, won its first championship in 1891 and four more and two FA Cups before World War II. The post-war years were fallow for the Merseysiders who, early in the 1950s, dropped into the second division for three years. The FA Cup returned in 1984, followed in 1985 by the league championship. Manager Howard Kendall left in 1987 after another championship win and Everton once again struggled. New manager and former player Joe Royle made some big signings, but Everton never looked like it was becoming a major force, and Royle left in 1997. Under a series of managers, the club saw limited success until David Moyes assumed the role. In the ensuing six years, Everton has had two European qualifications and three top ten finishes. A team colored scarf forms the handle of the jug.
