Dutch Girl Carrying Boy toby jug - Royal Bayreuth circa 1920

Dutch Girl Carrying Boy toby jug produced by Royal Tettau Porcelain Factory of Bavaria, Germany, circa 1920 using its Royal Bayreuth tradename. A Dutch Girl is characterized as a girl dressed in traditional Dutch clothing and wooden shoes with her long hair done up in braids. This Dutch Girl is carrying her younger brother on her back as the play in the field near their home. The little boy forms the handle of the jug. Some jugs carry a backstamp that includes the words "Koningin Wilhelmina Porcelain", a reference to Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.
