Drunken Sal toby jug - Kevin Francis Ceramics 1996

Drunken Sal toby jug modeled by Andy Moss and produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 1996 limited edition of 100. Wearing a tattered red 18th century dress, white mob cap, and large brimmed hat, Drunken Sal personifies the gin drinking women of the day. Winking at the men who pass by, she is a slutish leering woman sitting on a barrel in the corner of a pub. She is raising a glass in her right hand and holding a bottle of gin in her left. A signpost and sign reading "The Old Gallion" on one side and a ship on the other forms the handle of the jug.
