Douglas face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2002

Douglas face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2002. A dolphin is an aquatic mammal within the infraorder Cetacea. There are 40 extant species named as dolphins. Dolphins are widespread. Most species prefer the warm waters of the tropic zones, but some, such as the right whale dolphin, prefer colder climates. Dolphins feed largely on fish and squid, but a few, such as the orca, feed on large mammals such as seals. Douglas's face pot quote, "So Long, and thanks for all the fish", is the title of the fourth book of the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" trilogy of six books written by Douglas Adams. This title is the message left by the dolphins when they departed Planet Earth just before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass, as described in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
