Doorman toby jug produced in Germany for importer E.P.P. & Co. (Edward P. Paul and Co.) of Plainfield, New Jersey, circa 1955 using its tradename Ardico Products. A doorman, also known as a porter, is a person hired to provide courtesy and security services at a residential building or hotel, often opening doors, screening visitors, handling packages, carrying luggage, hailing taxis, and providing general assistance. This doorman is delivering a bouquet of flowers and letter to one of his tennants.
