David Winter toby jug - Kevin Francis Ceramics 1991

David Winter toby jug modeled by Douglas V. Tootle and produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, in a 1991 limited edition of 950. David Winter (1958 - ) is an English sculptor known for collectible miniature buildings. Winter made his first cottage in 1979 with John Hine, and soon expanded forming David Winter Cottages, which became popular for its small, collectible detailed cottages, some of which were rare. They were popular in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. The cottages were popular in the United States, where a David Winter Cottages Collectors Guild had 200,000 members in the early 1990s. Production ceased around 2002. A mouse dressed in pajamas sitting on a large pipe forms the handle of the jug.
