Cross-legged Toby jug - Bishop & Stonier circa 138

Cross-legged Toby jug produced by Bishop & Stonier of Hanley, England, circa 1938 under its Oriental Ivory tradename. The Cross-legged toby is an Ordinary Toby who has his left leg crossed over his right leg. He is holding on overflowing mug of ale in his right hand and has a churchwarden pipe in his mouth. He is holding a walking stick in his left hand with his left arm and walking stick forming the handle of the jug. This Cross-legged toby was produced from a W. H. Goss mold between 1936 and 1939.
