Comedian to the Troups majolica toby jug produced by Malicorne circa 1930. Designed and signed by Emile Tessier, this popular French comedian spent countless hours entertaining troops during several wars and conflicts across Europe. His difficult task was to take the soldiers' minds off of the war, if only for a few hours, and raise morale of the troops in general.
