Colonial Man toby jug produced by Ceramic Arts Studio of Madison, Wisconsin, circa 1950. This Colonial Man is based on the Ordinary Toby, the original toby jug featuring a common man of the time wearing 18th century clothing and a tricorn hat. He is holding a pitcher of ale in his lap with both hands, making sure not to spill a drop.
