Casanis character jug produced in France circa 1930. Casanis Pastis was created in Bastia in 1925 by the Corsican Emmanuel Casabianca, who later moved to Marseilles. Casanis' dual origins are reflected in the two shields depicted on its label and the special production process which gives it its unique light, floral flavor. Its finesse results from the distillation of green aniseed and star anise, slow infusion of licorice, and enrichment with numerous, carefully selected, spices and aromatic plants. This jug is part of the Casanis Pastis branding and imagery.
