Captain Hook character jug - INARCO circa 1970

Captain Hook character jug modeled produced in Japan by INARCO of Cleveland, Ohio, circa 1970. Captain Hook, the villain from the 1904 children's classic, "Peter Pan", by J. M. Barrie, is the leader of a band of pirates in Never Never Land. He gets his name from the steel hook that replaced his right hand after it was eaten by a crocodile. Not satisfied with just a hand, Hook maintained that the crocodile "liked my arm so much, that it has followed me ever since, licking its lips for the rest of me!" Luckily for Hook, a clock inside the crocodile warns him of the creature's imminent arrival. The magical boy Peter Pan and the three Darling children fall prey to the wicked Hook, who tries to poison Peter, nearly kills the fairy, Tinkerbell, and takes Wendy and her brothers as prisoners. The Captain is thwarted when the crocodile finally get his man! A parrot forms the handle of this jug.
