Boo-Boo toby jug - Shelley Potteries circa 1930

Boo-Boo toby jug designed by Mabel Lucie Attwell and produced by Shelley Potteries of Longton, England, circa 1930. Boo-Boos are jaunty little ‘do-good’ elves that have all kinds of adventures, led by their leader, a crown-wearing King. The Boo-Boos’ tales are full of love, good intention and mischief. They conjure up the world of make-believe and adventure that bedtime stories are made of. The English registration number on the bottom of Boo-Boo is 724421 which dates the registration of the design to 1926. The Boo-Boo toby jug is the milk jug from an children's nursery tea set designed in 1926. Boo-Boo's left arm is raising a horn to his ear for better hearing and forms the handle of the jug.
