Blackamoor character jug produced by Fabrica Sant'Anna of Lisbon, Portugal, circa 1920. Blackamoors, or Black Moors, were black people from North Africa who worked in wealthy European's homes. The Blackamoor's hat forms the handle of the jug and provides a removeable top as well.
