Betty Bitters The Barmaid toby jug - Royal Doulton 1984 - 1991

Betty Bitters The Barmaid 3/4 body toby jug designed by William K. Harper and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, from 1984 to 1991. Captain Salt is sometimes visited by Betty Bitters, the barmaid, at the old coaching inn, The Dog and Duck. An attractive outgoing girl in her late twenties, Betty is witty and full of cheerful repartee. Her blonde hair and ample bosom ensure much attention from the male customers as she pulls their pints of beer. Betty is well read, not just in romances, but in the classics and also poetry, which she knows well enough to recite. She attends creative writing classes and hopes one day to write a historical novel about Medieval Doultonville with its beautiful damsels and brave knights. This is one of twenty-five Doultonville toby jugs.
