Beefeater teapot produced by James Sadler of Burslem, England circa 1980. Beefeater is a term often used to refer to the Yeomen Warders of the Tower of London, but originally it referred to the Yeomen of the Guard. The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard is a bodyguard of the British monarch. The oldest British military corps still in existence, it was created by King Henry VII in 1485 after the Battle of Bosworth Field. The Tower of London forms the handle of the teapot.
