Barrel Toby jug in Pearlware by Thomas Hollins circa 1795. The Barrel Toby is an Ordinary Toby jug with a small barrel or firkin resting between his legs. The Pearlware finish refers to the final clear glazing that contained cobalt and gave a slight blue coloring to glaze that tended to pool between fingers and in the creases in the face.
