Aslan face pot - Kevin Francis circa 2001

Aslan face pot modeled by Andy Moss and produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 2001. Aslan is a major character in C. S. Lewis's "The Chronicles of Narnia" series. Unlike any other character in the Narnian series, Aslan appears in all seven chronicles. Aslan is depicted as a talking lion and is described as the King of Beasts, the son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea, and the King above all High Kings in Narnia. C.S. Lewis often capitalizes the word lion in reference to Aslan since he parallels Jesus as the "Lion of Judah" in Christian theology. The word aslan means "lion" in Turkish. Aslan's face pot quote, "Their prison is only in their minds", was said by Aslan about the dwarves in the book "The Last Battle".
