Widow Maker character jug - Frankoma Pottery 1976

Widow Maker character jug produced by Frankoma Pottery of Glenpool, Oklahoma, in 1976 for the Cultured Pearl restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The meaning of Widow Maker is something having the potential to cause sudden loss of life. This widow maker jug is shaped like a woman's head, vaguely Grecian in design, with a handle at the back. Maybe the woman depicted is the widow maker, or perhaps the drink served in the jug is so good it has earned a reputation as a widow maker. The bottom is marked "CULTURED PEARL TULSA FRANKOMA". The Cultured Pearl was a short-lived restaurant, making this piece rather rare.
