The Trapper character jug colorways modeled by David B. Biggs and produced by Royal Doulton of Burslem, England, in 1967. Trapping for furs or pelts as a commercial venture was once widely practiced in North America and the northern parts of Russia. However, trapping today is restricted by law and fur bearing animals such as minks are now often bred on special farms. The traditional trapper, immortalized by Davy Crockett, is a rugged fellow living a solitary existence out in the wilds, wrapped up in furs against the harsh winter winds with his snowshoes at the ready. A powder horn and pair of snowshoes form the handle of the jug. This is a pair of colorways produced in the small size.
