Rooster majolica toby jug produced by Desvres circa 1880 model number 298. A national symbol of France the Coq Gaulois or Gallic Rooster decorated the French flag during the Revolution. This Rooster is Desvres' standard production model. Other Roosters had more limited production and are rarer.
