Quaker Woman majolica toby jug in a green colorway produced by Minton of Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1865. The Quaker Woman is a member of the Religious Society of Friends, a Christian sect founded by George Fox around 1650. More commonly referred to as the Lady with a Fan toby jug today, this jug is listed in the Minton shape book as Quaker Woman. Her long hair forms the handle of the pitcher. The Quaker Woman is a pair with the Quaker Man and can be found in a variety of colorways.
