Puritan Lady toby jug - Fitz and Floyd 1993

Puritan Lady toby jug produced by Fitz and Floyd of Medford, Oregon, in 1993. The Puritans were English Protestants in the 16th and 17th centuries who sought to purify the Church of England of Roman Catholic practices, maintaining that the Church of England had not been fully reformed and should become more Protestant. Puritanism was never a formally defined religious division within Protestantism, and the term Puritan itself was rarely used after the turn of the 18th century. A shock of ripe wheat sheaves forms the handle of the jug. The Puritan Lady toby jug is a pair with the Puritan toby jug.
