President Reagan face pot - Kevin Francis 2004

President Reagan face pot produced by Kevin Francis Ceramics of Stoke-on-Trent, England, a 2004 limited edition for the Face Pot Team Tour. Ronald Wilson Reagan (1911-2004) was an American politician and actor who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the 33rd governor of California from 1967 to 1975, and as president of the Screen Actors Guild from 1947 to 1952 and from 1959 until 1960. Reagan left the presidency in 1989 with the American economy having seen a significant reduction of inflation, the unemployment rate having fallen, and the United States having entered its then-longest peacetime expansion. Reagan's face pot quote, "Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!", called for the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, to open the Berlin Wall, which had encircled West Berlin since 1961.
