Parakeet majolica figural pitcher produced by Mafra of Portugal circa 1910. This parakeet is sitting calmly on his perch mimicking his master's words back at him. The top of his head is hinged to the body by a heavy string allowing it to be lifted to fill and empty the pitcher.
